DeKalb Workforce Housing Initiative Program (DWHIP)
The DeKalb Association of REALTORS® has developed the DeKalb Workforce Housing Initiative Program (DWHIP)  for service workforce personnel* to realize the American dream of homeownership. DWHIP assists buyers in qualifying for financing so they can buy a home in the communities where they work. Initial funding to establish the program came from NAR’s Ira Gribin Grant.

The goal of DWHIP is to expand affordable housing opportunities to qualified DeKalb County Service Workforce in the communities they work in by:

-Educating the Service Workforce community

-Educating and training DeKalb REALTOR® Members to assist buyers

-Creating partnerships in workforce housing solutions & neighborhood stabilization

* service workforce refers to firefighters, police, medical staff and other workers providing services in DeKalb County.   See Buyer Program Requirements for other requirements.
